
The Financial Services Authority (FSA) today announced the appointment of John Sutherland as a senior advisor.
John will advise on the building society sector. He has more than 36 years experience in retail banking, including senior roles at the Nationwide Building Society and most recently as chief executive officer of the Stroud and Swindon Building Society.
Hector Sants, the FSA's chief executive officer, said:
"'I am delighted to announce the appointment of John Sutherland as a senior advisor to the FSA. John brings to his role considerable experience of the retail banking sector which will be vital in our work in this area.
"'Senior advisors are a core part of the FSA's delivery of intensive supervision. The team provides experience on regulatory, market and consumer matters.'"
