Financial Services Authority confirms Portman Building Society merger with the Nationwide Building Society
26th July 2007The Financial Services Authority today announced that it has confirmed the proposed transfer of the engagements of the Portman Building Society to the Nationwide Building Society.

The document sets out the reasons for the FSA's decision. 22 written representations were received by the FSA and three persons made oral representations at a Hearing held in Bournemouth on 7 June 2007. Copies of the decision will be sent to each society and to those who made representations.
